Depends on the quality of your tap water. If it’s already full of dissolved minerals, nitrate, phosphate and who knows what else, you will have problems getting your tank water clean enough for most corals to survive. If you tap water is very clean and soft, then you may be OK.
But it depends on YOUR tap water quality, not what other people can get away with.

How Many Drops Of Stress Coat Do I Need Per 10 Litres To Remove Chlorine?
Well, it’s not actually stress coat that you need to buy to dechlorinate your water. Some dechlorinating brands have an added substance that helps the fish produce their natural stress coat, though. What you need is dechlorinator–Start Right and AquaSafe are my favorite brands.
Make sure that it says on the bottle that it removes or neutralizes harmful metals, chlorine, and chlorimine in particular. It may also say that it makes water immediately safe for fish, or something similar to that. Stress coat or slime coat by itself won’t do the job.
It should say on the package how much it takes; usually, it’s a capful per ten US gallons, or ten drops per gallon, but you’ll really need to see what the brand you buy says. (Sorry; I’m horrible with metric.)
