Can I Leave Bradford Pear Leaves In My Patchy Yard?
I live in Raleigh NC and have a patchy yard with a plenty of bare spots, which are covered by fallen Fall leaves from a Bradford Pear tree. The bald spots are due to kids playing soccer in it. I am wondering whether should I not rake the leaves hoping they will help with soil development. Currently I have Fescue but plan to sew Zoysia next year because my yard gets a lot of sun and have very hard time keeping the yard optimally hydrated? So the question is should I rake them or not? I googled for Chemistry of Bradford Pear leaf but did not find any usable info.

How Do You Know When A Pear Is Ripe To Pick Off The Tree?
A friend of mine is letting me garden in his yard and there is a pear tree there and pears are starting to rot and drop off the tree. The pears are all still “Hard” and they are smaller than the kind you buy in the store, so I’m not sure when a pear is ripe to pick and allow to soften in the house.
My only guess so far is that they are good to pick when their button (The bottom of the pear) starts to turn brownish because it seems that the pears that are rotting on the tree rot from the button up… So pears that are fully green or blush from the sun are not yet ready to pick, right?
I’ve never seen a pear tree before so I’m really guessing here.

“The easiest way to remove glochids is with a pair of tweezers. With a dark background and the affected area in bright light, you can usually spot the difference between your own body hair and the straight, stiff, slightly thicker glochid. Once you spot it, just pluck it with your tweezers. If you can feel it but can’t spot it, I usually use the shotgun approach. Narrow down the area and use the tweezers to repeatedly pick at the skin until you no longer feel the spine. I’ve also heard that a piece of duct tape, applied to the affected skin and then pulled off, will remove these little spines.”

Hey, everyone.
It’s about time for me to change my daily fragrance around and I’ve finally decided on three scents that I’d like to use from the Victoria’s Secret Garden line.
They are Pure Seduction, Love Spell, and Pear Glacé.
Just for your information, I go to school, and I will probably wear this scent constantly in school, therefore please tell me which scent you would find to be the most suitable for a student; something not too intoxicating but something pretty and nice.
In general, please just tell me your opinions regarding which scent is the best. If you would like to, you could also tell me why that scent is so great, or vice versa.
