What Would Cause A Car To Not Start After Resetting The Check Engine Light?
I reset my check engine light after I got home today and now it wont start. It will crank but not turn over. I know its not the fuel pump since it is fairly new and I can hear it come on. The spark plugs are also new and the car was driving fine right before resetting that light. Its a 1995 Subaru Impreza.

what happened is your probably left your driver side door opened too long and it drained the battery while you were resetting the code. Just get a jump start or charge the battery and you should be good to go. Cleaning the battery terminals can help it start as a clean terminal lets more juice from the battery to help start the car.

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the check engine light? Does the car have an alarm system and anti-theft immobilizer? If the answer to both of those questions is yes then I suspect that is why it won’t start. The alarm system would interpret the battery disconnect as unauthorized tampering and a theft attempt and it would disable the engine, probably by disabling the ignition system since you say you can hear the fuel pump come on. If that has happened then you will need to reset the alarm/immobilizer system. I can’t help you with that though since I am not familiar with Subaru but I suppose you will find instructions in your owner manual.

Bad coil or ignition control module (spark governor).
