usually twice a year, although with climate changes lately, my poor pups will be bald before the year is out! lol

Honestly, every single day. It never ends. I have to remove dead hair from my Goldens constantly. I have rarely seen a real difference from season to season…they shed every day.

Both labs and rotties seem to shed constantly.
I have double coated dogs.. Samoyeds and Bernese.. they shed a little all the time (actually the Sam barely sheds at all!) and then they blow coat like all crazy heck once or twice a year dependent on hormones and the weather.

Usually spring and fall, when the weather changes. For some reason, my lab is much worse in the spring than in the fall. Well, I guess it’s because the winter builds up the coat so much thicker, so when that blows out you REALLY notice. It’s like tumbleweeds of dog hair blowing through the house.

Depends on the dog and where you live. I live in a moderate climate where spring comes early, so my dogs start in February and March. Colder places may happen later. One of my dogs seems to go first and the other a few weeks later. I’m not sure if I’d rather have them both go at once and have be really bad for just a few weeks or have them go one at a time and not be so bad but for longer.

My shepherd blows her coat twice a year usually when the weather transitions from warm to cold, then cold to warm, unfortunately this coat blowing takes 365 days a year!

I’ve owned double coated dogs, Siberians and Akitas, for a long time. My dogs have always done the coat blowing twice a year, usually early spring and early fall. Of course, they do shed a fairly constant rate year round, which reminds me that I need to run the vacuum today. Dog fur, you know.
