Use aquarium salt it does the same thing and is cheaper. 1 tbs per 5 gallons of water. and you shouldnt have do it very often like weekly when you change the water,
Follow the instructions on the label, they’re there for a reason. If yours have rubbed off, call into your local pet store and copy them down from the same brand bottle.
