Why Does The Hip-hop Section Not Like The Black Eyed Peas?
I know someone is going to say that they are not Hip Hop, but they are Categorized as Electro-hop, pop, dance, R&B, Hip Hop, Rap.

Bonniethon and Diggy are right.
BEP USED to be 3 guys that actually were influenced by A Tribe Called Quest.
They loved to break dance, they made fun, ecclectic, jazzy/soulful music and had a black female singer who was cool.
THEN the SOLD their soul, brought in the ‘white girl’ and now make the CRAPPIEST most ANNOYING POP music ever made…. and abandoned all sense of the hip-hop they actually used to represent.

Once upon a time, there was a group called the Black Eyed Peas. They were a happy group and made music that gave other people happy too.
Then, an evil witch with eyebrows that could only have come from a dark and awful dimension fed them all a poisoned red apple and from that day forth, they did believe her to be their lead singer and the happy was shared only with 8 year olds who like that sort of thing.

They are categorized as hip hop and rap for their early work, and by idiots who think because modern pop is semi derived from hip hop you can label pop as such.
I guess the overall reason why nobody likes BEP on here is because they suck. Without Fergie they were decent. But even then I wouldn’t shell out a buck to here that bullsh*t wannabe J5 music

Most people hate them because they flipped their style just to make money. As a result, the label of “sell-out” is often implied, and perhaps with good reason.
Their ‘Behind The Front’ album in 1998 was not bad and true to hiphop roots with perhaps a small fringe of R&B.

Now they sing crappy music far removed from their former idiom.

Ok. This is what I have done with the B.E.P. I have listened to.
Behind The Front- 4/5 (Fergie-Less) No good guest features.
Bridging The Gap- 4.25/5 (Fergie-Less) feat Chali 2na, De La Soul, Mos Def, Wyclef Jean with a track called “BEP Empire” that was produced by premo!
Elephunk- 1.5/5. (Fergiefied) No Guest Features
Monkey Buisness- 1.65/5 (Fergiefied) feat. Talib Kweli, Q-Tip, Cee-Lo, John Legend, and Jack Johnson.
The E.N.D.- 0.3/5. (Fergirfied) No Good Features. 1 track I like.
Will I Am has some talent. He showed that to us in the 1st two BEP albums and his 1st 2 solo albums. He has really brought down his MC ability. Fergie f*cked the group. And the other 2 guys used to be ok now they followed along,

For me its because their songs are so annoying they make me want to jump off a bridge rather than listen to “Im so 2008 your so 2000 late” one more time

I haven’t seen anyone here express an opinion about them either way.
