When Someone Who Is Mentally Ill Starts Calling You ‘nuts’?
Im dealing with a person who has a mental illness and they for the most part know it. No matter how nice i am to the person im met with a condescending defensive attitude. Now this person has started greeting me with ‘hey, nutcase’, and things of that sort. This person has done all sorts of things and tries to cover their tracks and when they speak to me its turned into ‘im not well’, ‘im nuts’, why are they saying this to me?

I think maybe they are just trying to bring you down, so they feel they can relate to you. or they are bringing you down to make themselves feel more normal.

You said it: they are nuts. Seriously, could it be that they sense that you are worried about being “nuts” and trying to get to you?
