Is Whole Wheat Pasta And Other Starches Really All That Different Than White Pasta, Breads And Pizza Dough?
Is whole wheat way healthier, because why do I always crave high starchy white bread, pasta, rice and pizza? Does whole wheat really make a difference to one’s health in the long run? Will it really make you lose weight and look healthier?

Of course they are! Whole wheats are loaded with nutrients, unlike white products. Basically they have tons of fiber, which helps keep your intestines healthy and helps keep you regular. They have phytoestrogens which detoxify carcinogins, which cause cancer. Anything that is white like rice, pasta, bread has been bleached to look that way. It isn’t natural and has usually no or very little nutritional value.

They are very different. Not only does the whole wheat pasta, bran, rye, and, as you mention, a lot of other starches have more nutrients and vitamins, they also contain fiber that is great for keeping a healthy digestion, make you feel fuller (so often, a person loses weight when they switch), but they don’t spike your blood sugar up as high, so you have less of a chance of developing diabetes (especially if adult-onset diabetes runs in the family). You are on a good track!

Yes. I was a lifelong white rice girl and switched to brown because that is what my husband liked. The same with pasta and bread. I now prefer it. It is about fiber count. The higher the fiber the quicker you feel full and longer you feel full and it provides longer lasting energy.
Don’t go cold Turkey just try replacing one product for another and then in two weeks replace another product and keep going until even your cereal and waffles are high fiber.
