Is Cornflour The Same Thing As Regular Wheat Flour?

The recepie calls for , and i just wanted to know if i could use and get the effect. All help is welcome! Thanks! =]

    No it is not the same – cornflour is often another name for corn starch – flour made from corn is usually called Masa.

    No, they are two completely different things.
    One is made from wheat and one is made from corn.
    You cannot use them interchangably.

    No cornflour is well, made of corn. very simple and as it seems Regular flour is make of wheat. It is fine to use which ever flour you want.

    It depends what you’re using it for.
    cornflour is usually used for thickening things, if this is what you want to do then yes you can use regular flour but twice the amount to cornflour.
    and you need to make sure it is mixed well as regular flour would not be as smooth

    Nope. Corn flour is made from corn and has a much lower gluten content. (please don’t listen to those who say it’s the same as cornstarch. It’s NOT) You can find it in bags at the grocery store in the ethnic foods isle.

    no, it has more texture than wheat flour, it may be about the same texture as graham flour.
    It is NOT corn starch!!!!

    Sometimes corn flour is better. More texture.
    Think of a corn meal muffin versus a muffin made from regular flour. MMMMMMmmmmm. Corn meal. Tasty.

    Cornflour is a much finer flour, and without knowing what you are cooking I can’t say if you could use regular flour.
