Just tell him thank you .. At least it was you that burned it and you didn’t have to dig it out of the trash because you are homeless and someone else overcooked peas and rice and threw it out..
God bless.

You obviously do not know how to cook food maybe he is trying to show you that so next time you don;t waste food.
It was HIS grace, that you had:
1. Peas
2. Rice
3. Some vessel to cook it in
4. The cooking gas that you used
5. No one snatched the food from you and
6. You were healthy enough to eat it.
Thank you Lord,
for the stack of dirty dishes
They have a story to tell
While others may be hungry
We are eating well.
If you can afford to overcook your food, you too, have an abundance.

Easy; let it cool, and put it outside for the birds to eat. They’ll enjoy it, and you can cook some more for yourself
Edit: Sorrowfree is well-intentioned, but incorrect. Rice will not harm a bird (especially cooked rice) any more than any other grain will. They do very nicely with it. The notion that it will swell up with water and kill them (not possible for already-cooked rice) is an old wives’ tale, well-known and thoroughly debunked long ago by the backyard birding community and the ornithology lab at Cornell University.
They have recipes in the Bible for people like you….and you can’t ever burn them.
1. Happy Soup
2. Religious round cakes
3. Mary mints
4. Jesus Jellies
5. Gotcha goofy!

He didn’t help did he? You did all the HARD WORK. You just gonna let him but in and take credit.
Or are you afraid that if you don’t, (((hell)))

I’m glad I’m not the only one who burned something on the stove. I actually managed to burn boiled peanuts!
