How To Store Fruit So It Stays Fresher Longer?

Is there a way to so it lasts than a couple days. I’ve have tried both in and out of the refrigerator with fruit going bad after 3-4 days sometimes quicker than that.
The fruits I’m talking about currently are strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and grapes. Although, apples and oranges don’t last to long either.

Citrus fruit, apples, nectarines and peaches ought to keep well in a large platter on the kitchen counter for several days – just make sure the more fragile fruit is kept on top, that there is adequate air circulation, and if needed rotate position.
Berries, grapes and all very ripe fruit should be kept losely wrapped in paper towels in the fridge.
Best not to buy too much fruit at one time.

dont put them in the fridge after you open them, it increases the moisture that comes in contact with them therefore increasing the amount of mold

With some fruits, keeping them in a bag might actually accelerate their ripening because it traps the gases that cause fermentation. Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and grapes should be kept in the fridge. Apples and oranges don’t need to be, though, and if they are going bad in 3-4 days, there is something wrong with what your grocer is selling.

In a ziploc container. Rinse your fruit first to keep moisture inside the container. You can also freeze “BERRIES” and thaw them later…….if you plan on buying them really early. If not and you want to keep them for a little while…do the first thing listed. GOD BLESS YOU!

Use your friut drawer in the fridge, the newer your fridge the better temp control youll have.It has alot to do with humidity also.Stawberries and the like are considered tender fruits so they are harder to maintain. There are also bags meant just for produce that work well.I find mine in the prouce dept.

Strawberries, blueberries, adn blackberries have a very short shelf life. Buy them the day you plan to eat them, or at most, the evening before the next morning you plan to eat them.
Grapes, apples, and oranges should be stored in the fridge fruit and veggie drawer. Take out of the plastic bag you used in the produce section. Do not wash grapes until ou are ready to eat them; apples, either.
And be aware, none of it keeps longer than about a week, at best anyway. So just buy what you can eat in the next 3+ days or so.

Apple and oranges keep well in the refridgerator for a week at least. Strawberries should not be touching when stored, so the best way to keep them fresh is to place them on a cookie sheet in the refrigerator. Do not wash strawberries until you are ready to eat them.
To store blueberries, simply toss them into the refrigerator in a bag or a covered bowl. Blueberries will maintain their freshness for up to two weeks in the refrigerator. In the freezer-toss in a freezer bag, remove all the air and store for up to 3 months.
Store blackberries at room temperature or refrigerate in a single layer- they will keep for 2-3 days.
Don’t wash either till you want to eat them.

See the website below for information…
Also, I usually freeze blueberries on a cookie sheet for a few hours to harden and then put them into a plastic freezer bag. This keeps them separate and allows for removal of a small amount and refreezing of the remainder.
I also make jelly or jam using Sure-Jell or Certo (in the canning area of grocery or discount stores). Syrups are good, too.
If all else fails, make pancakes, invite a few friends over…

    Here’s a strange answer.
My sister used to work for Dean’s Foods and she told me that often frozen fruit was better!
You know I had to doubt that.
But she said that, besides being cheaper, it can be frozen at it’s height of ripeness.
Think there’s any merit to that?
I dunno, but I buy what I call ‘fragile fruit’ frozen now … strawberries, blueberries … I guess all berries, lol.

there is a weird way to do so, it is to place them near unripe fruits, this an effective way and good, more fruits mean no constipation

Freeze them – even the grapes. You can use them in making cobblers (except the grapes), smoothies or pies. you can even make syrup or jam with the frozen fruit. Froozen fruit is delicious to suck on hot days, too!

I think that you should put the fruits inside a container or plastic bags. I did that a couple of weeks ago an the strawberries and the grapes are still fresh.
