How Often Can I Use Scott’s Starter Fertilizer On My New Lawn?
I tried the scott’s weed and feed, but my lawn may have been to new, it did not seem to work to green it up, The starter that i used on another part of my lawn worked grate, I want to add more starter fertilizer to the section that I tried the weed and feed on, how long should I wait, I also want to add more to the section that i used the scott’s starter on as soon as I can, to make it even greener. Can you tell me how long I need to wait please?

Many public confuse attachment parts with replacement parts. You used replacement lawn mower parts when you need to keep your mower working. When you want enhancements to the mower, then you buy attachment parts. Clipping bags are the exact develop of attachment parts for lawn mowers, which keeps you from having to rake your entire yard.

You should really only fertilize a yard 4 times a year, tops. But if you are going to, don’t use the starter fertilizer on an already established section of your lawn. I would suggest a light application of a nitrogen rich (29-5-10) fertilizer to green up, and develop a stronger root system. Mow within a day of this application to promote the root growth, and always remember to water a new lawn well! Remember to follow the instructions carefully, because when it comes to fertilizer, more is not always better!

I tend to agree with Josh. If you are using a typical fertilizer like Scotts turf builder +2, four times a year should be enough. You said that you used starter fertilizer but there are several types of starter fertilizer. A lot of the top “starter” fertilizers have a lot (15%+) of nitrogen. Some of them are even ratioed (10-10-10 or 12-12-12). If it’s been about thirty days since the +2 app, you can use Starter on it but if I remember correctly,Scotts starter has about 19% nitrogen. You might want to scale down the nitrogen by getting another product. Scotts does a dynamite job but its not the only game in town. As a landscaper for over fourteen years, I have used numerous products successfully, none of which were Scotts. It’s the percentage of nutrients and application that counts. One last thing to consider. Is the lighter grass a different type of grass? Bluegrass has a blue-green look. Fescue and Rye have a regular green look. Hope this was some help.

I loved this so much! I would recommend this to anyone who is having trouble with their lawn! the nitrogen in this really help the grass rejuvenate all over again. I am very happy with this product and will use it again!
