How Much Unpopped Corn Do I Need To Make 7 Quarts Of Popped Corn?

I am making carmel corn and I want to get the measurement correct. Thanks

    Typically 1 ounce of unpopped corn makes 1 quart of popped corn.

    There is no exact answer to this. If you search on the web, you will get several conflicting answers. I used to work at KarmelKorn (a popcorn shop popular in Northeast US malls). 1 cup of dry would generally yield 4 quarts. So you would need about 1 3/4 cups.
    If it were me, I would make 2 cups and eat whatever I did not need for the recipe.
