She’s part of the administration that is responsible for the deaths of more Arabs than anyone since Tamurlane. I hardly think she is in a position to lecture anyone on what’s right.
No she is quite right though, most Arab states that are moderate have been silent because they have not been taken seriously by the United states and we have raised the impression of importance a country like Saudi Arabia which in the true Arab world is as important as Maine is too our electorate, not to cast aspersions on Maine. But because of this is the true reasons countries like Egypt, Tunis, Jordan are not helping. We altered their status in the Arab world and created only certain countries who could affect change like Syria and Iran. Now with out their help Iraq’s future is in peril. We took the short view not the long view.
Rice’s point is that now with the strong possibility of new government change in our country Arab countries should flex their muscle and add their voices.
xiphos; glad I could help you come up with a lucid thought, you probably need all the help you can get.
She’s fooling herself to believe that any Arab will take her seriously and start to support Iraq. Condi Rice is a smart woman, but she is often out of touch with reality when it comes to Middle Eastern Affairs.

Does anyone else find this a bit hypocritical?
The Americans are supposed to be helping the Iraqi people get back on their own feet, but here a prominent member is telling the Arabs to back off and leave them alone?
My dear Wattson, I believe I have cracked the Da Vinci code!

while she might be right, they have not listened to her before so I don’t know why she thinks they will listen to her now
