Can You Help Identify A Variety Of Apple?

There is an tree growing near my house. By the look of it, it is quit old. The apples are fairly small, green with red flecks. They are definately eating apples, but a little tarty. Perfect if you ask me. I have never seen them anywhere. I am wondering if they are an old . I live in West Yorkshire
