Are They Serious About Not Allowing Cuban Cigars In The Usa?

Been to many Carribbean Island and always thought bringing back “a few” for friends to enjoy . Do really confiscate then at the Airport when coming back ? Security never seems to be much of and issue as then never have checked my carry-on’s when I go through customs. Just ask if I have anything to declare.

They actually have other things to worry about than Cuban cigars, but if you come across an overzealous Customs agent of a surprise check and have some, you may get into some trouble…..

i just came thru detroit ex cuba with lots of cigars
as a NON usa citizen travelling alone i was (after much nasty abuse and harranguing) allowed to keep them HOWEVER if you (as a non citizen) are travelling or meeting american citizens the cigars will be stolen by the customs regime
USA citizens will lose them and be fined.
i declared on my customs form where i had been this got immigration/customs all worked up i was actually asked by one customs official why i didn’t lie as to where i had been (i didnt because they have copies of all the flight manifest so they know where you have been anyway) i said because i didn’t have anything to hide and i dont lie. in the end after a stern reprimand the customs gut then asked how nice cuba was and said “one day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,”

if you get caught with them, you’ll be in trouble. It’s been that way for a while. If you manage to get them through, don’t let too many people know about it.

Technically they are illegal and they WILL be confiscated at the airport… the customs people will ALSO want to have you prove that YOU HAVE NOT BEEN IN CUBA because so many AmeriKans that go to Cuba are so stupid they bring back things like Cuban Cigars as if they think the customs people are as stupid as they are.

Take off the cigar bands (and if you want mail them back to the US), and carry the ciagrs loose. Claim they are Dominican or something – no customs agent will be able to prove otherwise.
